How to give a New Lease of Life to your Boring interior without Complete Overhaul?

Home décor is an area where you might not get it right mostly at the first time. Even if you do, it either gets out of trend or starts boring after some time. Often certain decisions regarding furniture, colour scheme, and other artifacts can end up in a messy, cramped or confused layout. In times like these, certain items might help you change the look and bring back the life without a complete overhaul. Let’s have a look

1.  Cushions:
If you feel that your living room feels too dull with that formal looking leather sofa, then cushions can really help bring out the colours. Solid coloured cushions can pop and bring vividness against lighter or darker sofa fabrics. While ethnic designer cushions can add a touch of class.  Tossing in few big cushions can add flexible seating as well as liveliness.

2.  Glass:
When rooms feel a bit too dark and dinghy, then glass can help bring in a great amount of natural light and also add elegance to the décor. You can go for stained doors and windows or clear ones as per your taste.

3.  Curtains:

As curtains occupy a major portion of the height of the room, their design, pattern, and colour can create a huge visual difference. Solid colours like beige and cream add luxury while semi-transparent purple lends serenity. Go for full length curtains for extra space optimization.

4.  Transparent Furniture:

Wooden furniture looks great but it also leads to visual blocking in a smaller room. You can reduce the unnecessary visual bulk by replacing your solid furniture with transparent or semi-transparent ones made out of glass or acrylic.

5.  Mirror:

If you have a smaller space and you cannot move or swap furniture, then adding a mirror is the best solution. Mirrors quickly create the illusion of space and make space feel bigger. Mirrors work great in bedrooms and cramped bathrooms.

6.  Photo frame:

If you feel that your room lacks any focal point, then adding a large photo frame can do just that. The photo will immediately catch the eye when placed alone against a wall. This works especially well the wall opposite the dining table or the living room couch. You can even go for a number of small photo frames arranged in a matrix or pattern for adding creativity along with focus.

7.  Rustic Furniture:

Rooms often become mundane looking due to the choice of the whole décor being utterly formal and lifeless. This can be fixed easily by exchanging one of the pieces of rustic furniture. Rustic furniture pieces exude an old world charm that might just add the missing spark in your space. Rustic chairs and coffee tables work best and are easy to replace.

8.  Shiny Artwork:

People often face the problem of their room feeling a bit too here and there with no sense of direction in terms of the theme. In short, your room may feel extremely random. In such cases, adding just a piece of shiny artwork made from copper, bronze, silver or even marble can lend that necessary detail and end the randomness. Artifacts like a showpiece, a vase, a lampshade or even a screen can help a lot.
